We’re all doctors here
An elderly old boar arrived last Sunday afternoon with about everything wrong with him that could be. He was arthritic in the back end, needed some dental work, was almost blind and his lungs were full of mucus. Himself told the owner that he would do what he could but didn’t think the prognosis was very good.
He gave him some medicine and then put him on the oxygen for
about a quarter of an hour before putting him in the pen with us. He watched
him for a while to check out he wasn’t going to make a nuisance of himself, in
short, try to get his little back legs over. We could have told him there
wasn’t a chance by his age and condition, but he never listens to us so we long
ago gave up trying to tell him anything!
Later on that night he had another dose of oxygen before
himself went to bed. The following morning, the old boy was up there with the
rest of us, screaming for his breakfast and himself was amazed. He seems to
think it was his medicine that did the trick but you know and we all know that
it was being with us lot. The old fella told us that he had lost his mate of a
few years standing a couple of weeks ago and he was so lonely that this had
brought him down low.

Now, a week later, he is doing very well indeed and as you
can see by the photo, he’s the cream, snuggled down between Jessica and Bitsy.
