Olga’s back!
Olga de Polga is back again, along with about ten other boarders. It’s always
busy at this time of the year for with the children away on holiday, we have
to move over a bit when their piggies come into board with us. We don’t have
any problems though, for most of them are old friends who board two or three
times a year.
This time, Michael Bond himself brought Olga round and
we all tugged our forelocks at the man who had the sense and very good taste
to write those wonderful stories about Olga’s adventures. He has done one
more book about her, which should be out later this year. Olga has told us
about some of the things she has been up to, and which Michael has written
about in the book but we don’t believe all of it for she is inclined to exaggerate
and bend the truth a bit, in her favour of course! First we had to promise
not to tell anyone about what’s in the book, so we’re afraid that you’ll
have to go out and buy it when it comes out if you want to know what she
has been doing.

Himself, has been doing some painting in the kitchen,
some more alterations to the boy’s pens, and Saturday night he was drinking
some of the amber liquid from a glass and subjecting us to some heavy doses
of Count Basie. Disappointingly, he didn’t fall over, and gratefully, he didn’t
pick any of us up and use us as his makeshift tenor sax, so in balance it
wasn’t too bad.
